It certainly is worthwhile to spend a winter vacation in Sölden since it is one of the best known winter sports venues in Tyrol. There is something to do for everyone. Whether you prefer a relaxing walk through the snow-covered landscape, or an exciting tobogganing excursion with family and friends, or rather cross-country skiing on the glorious trails in the vicinity of the village centre.
Sölden is famous for its enormous skiing region with more than 145 perfectly groomed ski slopes. A total of 36 modern lifts ensure short queues and transportation to over 3000 m above sea level. Sölden is the only skiing area in the Ötz Valley with glacier skiing regions. The Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers are connected to one another by means of a ski tunnel. Furthermore, 3 three thousand metre peaks have been made accessible. They are called the BIG3 and have been provided with impressive viewing platforms which offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain world stretching up to the Dolomites in the south.
